South Korean company Samsung presents the world's first notebook with a transparent display. Moreover, this feature of the notebook provides users with the ability to work and even to watch videos with bright and sharp picture.
The prototype of portable computer, the screen is in working off state is transparent, and in a working state demonstrates high-quality video, Samsung needed to demonstrate the advantages of OLED-technology, which the company intends to apply widely in different devices.
As it known, OLED-displays are built on organic light-emitting diodes. In comparison to ordinary liquid-crystal screens they consume less electric power and differ in the better quality of image.
Samsung laptop has a transparent screen, which allows to pass through the areas where the level of light is approximately 40%. And this is not the only gadget from Samsung, that uses a perspective OLED-technology.
At the same show CES-2010 South Korean company introduced multimedia player IceTouch with two-inch transparent touch screen and digital badge, looking very much like an ordinary player.
However, a thin transparent plate with a picture of it’s owner and it’s data is actually the mentioned OLED-screen information on which can be changed if necessary. In addition, digital badge can be used as a USB flash drive for data storage.
