Sometimes erasing of borders between traditional musical instruments and new hi-tech electronic equipment generates some really interesting compositions. Realizing that music can be met everywhere, even in such ordinary actions as the habit of drumming with fingers on the table, several students from University College Artezis, located in Antwerp, Belgium, has developed a device Beat on the Block.
This is a portable music system that consists of two components. A bag with speakers and a device for the processing of sound signals is the first of them. In turn, besides those mentioned devices there are also special gloves store in bag. They are the second part of the set, and in fact, a musical instrument that is proposed to play. To extract the sound using Beat on the Block it needs simply to tap on any flat surface after gloves are put on of course.
One set of Beat on the Block consists of a bag and a few pairs of gloves that allow several users to experiment with various rhythms simultaneously, creating truly complex compositions.
