Xerox Demonstrates a New Technology Of Industrial Inkjet Printing

On the exhibition of printing products IPEX 2010, Xerox Corporation has introduced to the world its new high-speed inkjet technology for industrial continuous printing.

The demonstrated working prototype of a new line of printers has 56 rugged piezoelectric printing heads with the technology of precise dosing of paint, in the amount of more than 49,000 nozzles capable of producing about 2 million droplets per second. Every drop of ink is placed on the paper with absolute precision, creating a 1 pixel image, and thus the system prints more than 2000 full-color images per minute. This technology is specially designed for creating the perfect color on cheap paper, and a cross-cutting control system with feedback provides the reliability and high performance.

Due to using new technology, speed of printing on light papers is up to 152.4 m (or 500 feet) per minute. For print service providers that technology saves money, and for the environment - saves nearly two thousand of trees per year.

With the new technology of ink providing you can get high quality print images even when using an inexpensive paper without any preliminary surface treatment and application of special coatings. It is achieved through many innovations, combined in new technology. These innovations include a special sensor that allows controlling the operation of each nozzle for ink and automatically fixing errors.

Innovative technologies developed by several researching teams established more than two thousand patents. These innovative technologies include the following:
- New powerful printing heads
- Modular assembly of printing heads
- New matrix image sensor IOWA (Image On Web Array).
- Inks for industrial printing.
