The First Olympics Of Robots

In Harbin on the north-east of China the first in the history Olympics of humanlike robots has started.
Android-athletes created by young talents from China, South Korea, USA and Japan are competing in athletics, soccer, volleyball, boxing, and not Olympic kinds of programs - play the drum and dancing.

There are 24 kinds of contests in the program of competitions taking place at the play-field of Harbin Technological University,  in that the different students’ develops of robots: from the controlled  by remote control to fully autonomous humanoid machines.

Turn Any Machine Or Device Into The Robot

In order to transform, for example, vacuum cleaner, car wash floors and other similar machines, into a robot all you need is just to connect it to the car computer brain. This computer brain is a specialized module CRB100 that was developed by Spanish researchers from Spain's Universitat Jaume I (UJI) and designed to transform into a robot or a self-moving machine.

Avatar - New Technology In Cinema Industry

Science-fictional film "Avatar"(2009) is a joint US-British product, filmed by James Cameron. In its first showing weekend "Avatar" has collected 21 million dollars in Russia, 73 million in the U.S.A., and $ 232 million in total all over the world.This film is called a revolutionary breakthrough in technology of film industry. It was the first usage specially developed motion capture systems (performance capture).

Geminoid F - The Robot-Girl With Human Facial Expressions

Hiroshi Ishiguro, Japanese Professor and Robotics, became famous after presentation of his new device to the public. Hecreated his "twin", the robot Geminoid HI-1. Distantly-controlled it had ability to convey basic emotions of its operator and transmit his voice via built-in speakers. The main goal of this robot was to research various aspects of psychological interaction between robots and humans.

New Bodygroom From Philips

About a week ago I was presented a new bodygroom from Philips and I have to admit it works just great, my face is unbelievably smooth. According to the developers BG2030 from Philips is designed for the usage at all areas below the human neck but I successfully tested it on my face also. All I can say is that it does shave and it does it perfect. So now I consider myself to be the most clean shaved blogger in the world :).

Toe Mouse - Mouse Concept for Fingers of Legs

Designer Liu Yi presented unusual concept of computer mouse under the name Toe Mouse. But it is not simply advanced or modified variant of usual manipulator, it is a leg mouse. It should be placed on the floor and controlled by fingers of leg. Generally this mouse is intended first (at least Liu Yi designed her exactly for this aim) of all to the people with the limited capabilities. But in appearance it looks as a simply compact and original designer mouse.

Laptop with Transparent OLED-Display from Samsung

South Korean company Samsung presents the world's first notebook with a transparent display. Moreover, this feature of the notebook provides users with the ability to work and even to watch videos with bright and sharp picture.

The prototype of portable computer, the screen is in working off state is transparent, and in a working state demonstrates high-quality video, Samsung needed to demonstrate the advantages of OLED-technology, which the company intends to apply widely in different devices.

Digilog Will Make the 3D Books

The South Korean scientists from Institute of Science and Technique adapted 3 - D technology for books, and they did this so successfully, that the personages of those books literally jump out from pages.

For the experiments they chose two books for children with the Korean folk stories, full of dragons, heroes, jumping over through mountains and other fairy-tale personages.

ARM Will Release an Alternative to iPad

ARM plans to release more than fifty new iPad-like products in 2010.

IDG News Service – launching Apple's iPad release will clear the way for many competing products this year, ARM executive stated, predicting not less than than fifty tablet PC devices will be released globally.

The coming flow of tablets has inspired ARM, Intel's nearest competitor in the sphere of mobile microprocessors, to rent more exhibition area at the Computex trade show of electronics held in Taipei this year to present the devices, together with others electronic devices that use ARM processing cores.
