Turn Any Machine Or Device Into The Robot

In order to transform, for example, vacuum cleaner, car wash floors and other similar machines, into a robot all you need is just to connect it to the car computer brain. This computer brain is a specialized module CRB100 that was developed by Spanish researchers from Spain's Universitat Jaume I (UJI) and designed to transform into a robot or a self-moving machine.

Cognition for Robotics Research (C4R2), the researching group of the University UJI, specializing in a sphere of robotic systems has developed the module, sees its main application in various robots for cleaning placements and outdoor. But according to the creators of the module, this technology can be used successfully to create robots to assist elderly people who perform monotonous industrial work or assembly at various factories, and many others.

According to the statement of a member of C4R2, Professor Juan Carlos Peris Broch, thanks to the variety of sensors, devices and advanced software, they have managed to create a universal "brain" that can be targeted on solving of very wide range of tasks. The "brain" created by researchers unites a computer, scanning laser that provides 3-D vision, a lot of various sensors and servo control units that control the movements of the robot. Another feature of the module is that along with the traditional algorithms and means of navigation, creators have given the computer Intellectual system that can independently analyze the situation and make decisions. In addition to the laser module for navigation it uses sonar and infrared sensors.

Using all of the above possibilities, the module CRB100 can build a map of the surrounding space and pave the way for getting to the target destination. If any object or a person appears on the robot's path unexpectedly, the module will detect this and avoid the crossing trajectories of movement.

This module is currently being tested on the miniature robot cleaners, lawn mowers and robot sentries. The company Cognitive Robotics will engage the commercial production and sales of CRB100
